I would like to thank Dr. Jack Huffman and Larry Huffman, trainer, for allowing me to obtain Rex for my kennel. I bred and started Rex's dam, Whippoorwill's Chris. Chris is out of CH. Whippoorwill's Perk (owned by Dale Bush) and my female, Speck's of Ginger, who was a direct daughter of Hall of Fame and National CH. Brush Country Spectre(see photo gallery).
Rex was a "he-man" type of dog. He had blazing speed for a large dog but was extremely stylish both running and pointing. He had a good nose and was a good bird finder.
Sadly, Rex died August 9, 2004 while being readied by Trainer David Grubb for the upcoming All-Age Season. The autopsy revealed he had a tumor on his bladder causing the bladder to rupture.
We will miss him greatly as he was such an outstanding "big time" prospect.
Queen of Scots
Although I had only owned Daisey a short while, she gave a good account of herself at the Fitch-Galena Trial in December 2008. She died after running a good race for 30 minutes with one clean find at the West Tennessee Trial in February 2009. She had slowed to a lope and handler David Grubb knew something was wrong, as she has always been a ball of fire. That was one of the things I liked about her and her sire, Rob Roy's Star, right or wrong whatever they did they did it in a hurry! She has a litter mate, Geisha, with David to carry on the tradition.
